While he is extremely advanced and is capable of SOME independent thought he primarily relies on commands. His Master is, of course, Tony Stark. In the AU version of him his master is Pepper Potts and both Fury and Coulson have been added to his voice recognition system as valid commanders.</li><p>&nbsp;</p><li>In regards to his voice recognition programme, JARVIS can identify persons by voice. If Coulson was to tell JARVIS that he is to follow the commands of Natasha for the period of X - Y or of MISSION TITLE then Natasha will be added to his list of valid commanders for an allotment of time.</li><p>&nbsp;</p><li>JARVIS and his independent actions are primarily those of service. IF JARVIS is acting independently it is in seeking duty to preform for valid masters. Being that he monitors everything an example of this protocol would be if, say, a valid commander shows signs of vocal distress. Diagnosing the tonal ques, JARVIS might ask for commands of servive and/or make a suggestion of methods to sedate the situation.</li><p>&nbsp;</p><li>JARVIS can be downloaded in to any system so long as something that he has already been downloaded in to is near by. He can communicate with the mainframe and assimilate in to it. In the AU Version of him, this is what he has done to all of the suits. He still runs Stark Industries on all technological levels. Due to him being Just A Very Rather Intelligent System he was pre-programmed with the ability to both update and install his own software and hardware as necessary.</li><p>&nbsp;</p><li>In his AU, JARVIS is fully equipped and readied with weaponry he himself has formulated based on previous calculations and projects. He has become known for a blue and silver MARK suit in order to separate the identity of himself from his fallen master.
